Christmas Tour of Homes
For the past several years the Auburn Historical Society has organized the “Christmas Candlelight Tour of Homes.” This tour takes in mainly local historic homes with a new home sometimes added for flavor. The funds raised from this tour helps towards the upkeep of the Museum and the historic village. The Directors are very appreciative of those who open their homes for this very worthy cause. The Annual Christmas Candlelight Tour of Homes will take place in December.
HATS GALORE!
This is a HATS DISPLAY by Sharon Woodward and her mother, Sandra Lee That was held in the AUBURN MUSEUM on January 15th through 19th. Although this display is now ended there are many vintage hats on permanent display at the Museum as part of the Museum artifacts. Hats have been a part of history. Cave drawings have been found of women wearing elaborate turbans. They were worn to keep warm, indicate status, and to adorn to make one more attractive to the opposite sex.
